Results from “The Lost Double Tap of Atlantis”

The Double Tap Championship in Wichita Falls, Texas took place this past weekend. The Double Tap is one of the largest matches on the USPSA calendar and always draws a solid group of shooters. This year 300 shooters competed in the match with Chris Anderson taking the Single Stack title, Kale Garretson Production, Russ Shaver Limited-10, Manny Bragg Limited and, of course, Sig’s Max Michel dominating Open with 9 stages wins – and a 2nd, 3rd and 5th place stage finish to round out the match. Among the women, Rhonda Stonaker claimed the Production title and Glock’s Randi Rogers took Limited. But of all the contests at the Double Tap, the women’s Open match had to be the one to watch as Team Limcat’s Athena Lee barely edged out Team Rudy Project’s Valerie Levanza Rosales by just under a point – 0.9725 to be exact – to take the win. The two split stage with each winning 6 of the 12. Now here’s the kicker…Athena was scored shooting Minor while Valerie was shooting Major.
