Talking about shooting, this past weekend there were three big USPSA matches. The Area 6 championship saw some surprises and some of the usual. The big surprise was Team SVI Chris Tilley‘s Open div. win over the nearly unbeatable Max Michel of Team Sig. Jessie Abbate (Team Leupold), Randi Rogers (Team Glock) and Dave Sevigny (Team Glock) led the list of ‘usual suspects’ as Abbate won in Open, Rogers won in Limited and Sevigny was the overall Limited winner. Tori Nonaka of Team Glock won her first major title for the team with her Production div. win. Michael Hollar was the overall winner in Production. Bryan Murphy topped the Revolver field, while Ted Puente won the Single Stack title and Gerard Tetreau took the Lim-10 title.

At the Space City Challenge in Texas David Re took Open, Paul Clark Limited, Kale Garretson Production, Team Smith & Wesson’s Tony PhanLimited-10, Team S&W’s BJ Norris Single Stack and Dave Eickhoff won Revolver. Among the ladies, Tania Steele topped the Limited field while Rhonda Stonaker did the same in Production.

Don’t forget, the 14th Annual ICORE Southwest Regional Revolver Championship is this weekend (Friday and Saturday, April 22-23) in beautiful Morro Bay, Calif. There are still slots available so register for the match, grab your wheelgun and head for the coast. This is the first match in the ICORE Regional Series presented by Smith & Wesson and there are five guns up for grabs at the end of the season for those that participate in the series. BTW, the crew from Apex Tactical, located right up the road, will be there with totally trick custom revolvers and new but unreleased gun parts that will debut later this month at the NRA Show. If you ask real nice they just might let you see them. Plus Scott Folk promises a free hug with any purchase.
